This week’s digest
Caveat emptor! Well in this case, let the buyer recruiter beware. I came across this Reddit post, where a candidate claimed they had an “extremely high interview invitation rate using only chatGPT and my CV.” Check out the conversations in this thread - you can see how candidates are applying AI to their interview applications - super interesting! One example below, which was kinda sweet:
My kid just applied for her first job at the neighborhood pool, and I asked ChatGPT to generate a list of 10 interview questions for that job. My never before employed 14yo studied these questions, most of which WERE asked in some way, and was offered the job on the spot at $14/hr!
A lot of us are aware of candidates using AI to assist with job applications, but it may be making it harder to separate the amazing from the AI-mazing candidates. (Did I just coin a new phrase?)

🧑🏽🏫 AI skills to have (and look out for) in 2023
In this post, Zain Khan shares his perspectives on THE high-income AI skills to have in 2023. Prompting has been labelled as the most important one right now.
In interviews of the future you may start to hear of, and even test for, candidates’ experiences with some of these AI tools. 👀 👀
💡ChatGPT focus group
👉 Recently, Adam Gordon ran a talent acquisition focus group to discuss the use of ChatGPT. Here are some of the key findings:
One attendee used ChatGPT to make their personal objectives SMART.
Another attendee used a combination of ChatGPT and another tool to write much of their company's EVP and ATS communication templates.
A tech TA lead in attendance used ChatGPT to take HMs' technical candidate interview bullet point feedback and make that comprehensible for candidates.
🤔 While there was some discussion about the potential limitations of AI-generated text, the focus group was overall positive about the use of ChatGPT in recruitment.
